2000 UD UD1800CS recall: fuel system
⚠️ What's wrong
Vehicle description: medium duty trucks. The diesel engine fuel supply hose from the fuel filter to the top of the fuel injection pump is incorrectly routed.
💥 The risk
This condition could allow the hose to come in contact with the engine block, causing the hose to wear out.
🔧 The fix
Dealers will replace the existing diesel fuel hose with a redesigned fuel hose that has a different shape from the existing fuel hose. Due to the design change and routing change of the redesigned fuel hose, the engine electrical harness connector bracket and the ficd valve bracket will require replacement with redesigned brackets. This will provide additional clearance between these brackets and the redesigned fuel hose.
Is the fix free? Yes. Safety recall repairs are free at any authorized dealer under federal law, including parts and labor. (Vehicles more than 15 years old when the recall was announced can be excluded, but most manufacturers still fix them.)
