2001 Cadillac Deville recall: body & structure
⚠️ What's wrong
Vehicle description: certain sedans, hearse, and limousine vehicles fail to comply with requirements of FMVSS no. 201, "occupant protection in interior impact." these vehicles have sunvisor center supports with certain radii less than the 3.2MM required by the standard.
💥 The risk
Radii less than 3.2MM CAN increase the possibility of certain types of injuries, like lacerations, if an occupant contacts the support during a crash.
🔧 The fix
Dealers will replace the sunvisor center supports with redesigned supports. Owner notification began november 28, 2001. Owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact cadillac at 1-800-458-8006.
