2001 Kawasaki EJ650-E3 & 2001 Kawasaki EJ650-E3L recall: lights

⚠️ What's wrong

On certain motorcycles, the connector plug supplying power to the headlamp might not be fully installed on the prongs of the bulb.

💥 The risk

This could cause the plug to become dislodged from the headlamp, resulting in a loss of forward lighting, increasing the risk of a crash.

🔧 The fix

Dealers will ensure the connector is properly seated on the bulb prongs. If any components are damaged, the dealer will replace them. Owner notification began on april 14, 2003. Owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact kawasaki at 1-866-802-9381.

Is the fix free? Yes. Safety recall repairs are free at any authorized dealer under federal law, including parts and labor. (Vehicles more than 15 years old when the recall was announced can be excluded, but most manufacturers still fix them.)
