2003–2004 Evobus S417 & 2003–2004 Setra S417 recall: fuel system
⚠️ What's wrong
On certain motor coaches, under some conditions, cracks and fissures CAN form on the lower sections of the tanks' side walls, leading to fuel leakage.
💥 The risk
Fuel leakage in the presence of a ignition source may result in a fire.
🔧 The fix
Dealers will inspect and replace the fuel tanks. Owner notification began on may 28, 2004. Owners should contact setra at 1-800-882-8054.
Is the fix free? Yes. Safety recall repairs are free at any authorized dealer under federal law, including parts and labor. (Vehicles more than 15 years old when the recall was announced can be excluded, but most manufacturers still fix them.)
