2001–2004 Featherlite 1645 & 2001–2004 Featherlite 1648 recall: body & structure

⚠️ What's wrong

On certain snowmobile trailers, inadequate welds that attach the axles to the body of the trailer CAN fail.

💥 The risk

A failure of the axle to body attachments could result in personal injury, property damage, or both.

🔧 The fix

Dealers will inspect and re-weld the axle to the body of the trailer. The recall began june 1, 2004. Owners should contact featherlite at 1-877-903-1444.

Is the fix free? Yes. Safety recall repairs are free at any authorized dealer under federal law, including parts and labor. (Vehicles more than 15 years old when the recall was announced can be excluded, but most manufacturers still fix them.)
