2005 Chrysler 300 & 2005 Dodge Magnum recall: seat belt

⚠️ What's wrong

On certain passenger vehicles, a spot welding operation for the rear floorpan reinforcement may not have been performed.

💥 The risk

This could cause the rear seat belt anchors and/or the child seat anchors to separate in certain crash conditions, which CAN increase the risk of injury to rear seat passengers.

🔧 The fix

Dealers will inspect the rear floorpan reinforcement for missing welds and install structural rivets if necessary. Owner notification began on july 6, 2004. Owners should contact daimlerchrysler at 1-800-853-1403.

Is the fix free? Yes. Safety recall repairs are free at any authorized dealer under federal law, including parts and labor. (Vehicles more than 15 years old when the recall was announced can be excluded, but most manufacturers still fix them.)
