2003 Capacity Trailer Jockey recall: lights

⚠️ What's wrong

On certain vehicles equipped with bendix SL4 stop light switches, improper lubrication was applied to the piston mechanism in the switch.

💥 The risk

This lack of proper lubrication CAN cause the switch to stick, resulting in the vehicle stop lamps staying illuminated or failing to extinguish promptly. If the stop lamps fail to perform as designed, a crash could result without warning.

🔧 The fix

Bendix will notify its customers and provide a free remedy. Bendix has not yet provided the agency with a notification and remedy schedule. Owners should contact capacity at 903-759-0610.

Is the fix free? Yes. Safety recall repairs are free at any authorized dealer under federal law, including parts and labor. (Vehicles more than 15 years old when the recall was announced can be excluded, but most manufacturers still fix them.)
