2000–2004 Daimlerchrysler CL-100 & 2000–2004 Daimlerchrysler SLF recall: equipment
⚠️ What's wrong
Certain transit buses equipped with sure-lok wheelchair tie-down securement assemblies. The sprocket teeth of the retractor assembly may be out of alignment causing the load pawl not to fully seat in the sprocket teeth.
💥 The risk
In the event of a vehicle crash, the wheelchair may not be adequately secured possibly resulting in injuries.
🔧 The fix
Sure-lok will provide a free remedy on behalf of daimlerchrysler. Dealers will inspect and replace the wheelchair securement retractors as necessary. Owners should contact sure-lok at 1-866-787-3565 or daimlerchrysler at 336-454-3484.
Is the fix free? Yes. Safety recall repairs are free at any authorized dealer under federal law, including parts and labor. (Vehicles more than 15 years old when the recall was announced can be excluded, but most manufacturers still fix them.)
