2005 Dodge Dakota recall: airbag
⚠️ What's wrong
On certain pickup trucks equipped with the optional side curtain air bag, the curtain fasteners may not have been properly tightened.
💥 The risk
This could result in an improper side air bag curtain deployment in certain side crash conditions, which CAN increase the risk of injury to vehicle occupants.
🔧 The fix
Dealers will tighten the side air bag curtain fasteners to the proper specification. The recall began on january 17, 2005. Owners may contact daimlerchrysler at 1-800-853-1403.
Is the fix free? Yes. Safety recall repairs are free at any authorized dealer under federal law, including parts and labor. (Vehicles more than 15 years old when the recall was announced can be excluded, but most manufacturers still fix them.)
