2001–2005 Crossroads Cross Terrain & 2001–2005 Crossroads Crossroads + 3 more recall: equipment

⚠️ What's wrong

Certain travel and fifth wheel trailers have improperly installed furnace exhaust vents.

💥 The risk

Improper installation or lack of the furnace exhaust vent will allow the exhaust fumes, containing combustion products including high concentrations of carbon monoxide gas, to enter into the recreational vehicle and could result in injury or death to occupants of the trailer.

🔧 The fix

Owners/dealers will inspect the furnace exhaust vent and, if not properly installed, the dealers will repair the exhaust vent free of charge. Owners are being instructed not to use the furnace until the exhaust vent has been inspected and is properly repaired. The recall began february 2, 2005. Owners may contact Crossroads at 260-593-2866.

Is the fix free? Yes. Safety recall repairs are free at any authorized dealer under federal law, including parts and labor. (Vehicles more than 15 years old when the recall was announced can be excluded, but most manufacturers still fix them.)
