2004 Komfort 28FS & 2004 Komfort 29FS recall: wheels

⚠️ What's wrong

On certain fifth wheel trailers equipped with aluminum wheels, the thickness of the wheel may not allow for enough thread engagement of the lug nuts.

💥 The risk

Lack of thread engagement could allow the wheel to separate from the trailer and a crash could occur without prior notice.

🔧 The fix

Dealers will replace the wheels free of charge. The recall began on january 4, 2005. Owners may contact komfort at 800-554-2711.

Is the fix free? Yes. Safety recall repairs are free at any authorized dealer under federal law, including parts and labor. (Vehicles more than 15 years old when the recall was announced can be excluded, but most manufacturers still fix them.)
