2000–2006 Heil California Pull recall: body & structure
⚠️ What's wrong
On certain Pull trailers equipped with air ride suspensions, the integrity of the weld sequencing could potentially result in cracking at the rear of the suspension frame.
💥 The risk
Such a crack, if left unattended could progress to an abrupt failure in the dolly frame. Failure to have the unit upgraded could result in a crash without prior warning.
🔧 The fix
Dealers will upgrade the welding which involves the addition of a steel bar to reinforce the frame structure. The recall began on february 16, 2006. Owners may contact heil at 1-800-400-6913, extension 353 or 574.
Is the fix free? Yes. Safety recall repairs are free at any authorized dealer under federal law, including parts and labor. (Vehicles more than 15 years old when the recall was announced can be excluded, but most manufacturers still fix them.)
