2006 Jayco Granite Ridge & 2006 Jayco Greyhawk recall: windows, wipers & mirrors
⚠️ What's wrong
On certain motor homes, the windshield wiper motor may have been produced without grease being applied to the output shaft gear.
💥 The risk
After a period of continuous use on the high speed setting, lack of grease on the output shaft gear may cause the gear to distort or fracture during operation resulting in a loss of wiper function. Inoperative wipers under inclement weather conditions could cause a crash due to impaired visibility.
🔧 The fix
Ford is conducting the owner notification and remedy for this campaign. Dealers will inspect the wiper motor for the presence of grease and grease the wiper motor gears if necessary. All vehicles have been remedied.
Is the fix free? Yes. Safety recall repairs are free at any authorized dealer under federal law, including parts and labor. (Vehicles more than 15 years old when the recall was announced can be excluded, but most manufacturers still fix them.)
