2005–2006 Pierce Enforcer & 2005–2006 Pierce Saber recall: engine
⚠️ What's wrong
On certain fire trucks equipped with cummins isl CM850 diesel engines, the connecting rods which transfer energy from the piston to the crankshaft are defective and CAN result in seizure of the piston pin. A piston pin seizure CAN result in a mission-disabling engine failure.
💥 The risk
This condition could ultimately result in a loss of vehicle power (engine stall) increasing the risk of a crash.
🔧 The fix
Pierce is working with cummins to replace the connecting rods free of charge. Owners may contact pierce at 1-888-974-3723 or cummins at 1-800-DIESELS.
