2005–2006 Mitsubishi Fuso FK61F & 2005–2006 Mitsubishi Fuso FM61F + 1 more recall: powertrain & transmission

⚠️ What's wrong

On certain trucks, the automatic transmission (a/t) selector lever may have been improperly machined allowing excessive play in the lever, causing improper engagement of the "p" range (park).

💥 The risk

The transmission could remain in the "r" range (reverse) after shifting the vehicle into park allowing the vehicle to roll, causing a crash without warning.

🔧 The fix

Dealers will replace the a/t control lever assembly, a/t shift control cable and proper parking procedures label free of charge. The recall began on august 16, 2006. Owners may contact mitsubishi fuso at 856-467-4500.

Is the fix free? Yes. Safety recall repairs are free at any authorized dealer under federal law, including parts and labor. (Vehicles more than 15 years old when the recall was announced can be excluded, but most manufacturers still fix them.)
