2007 Komfort Travel Trailer recall: wheels

⚠️ What's wrong

Certain Travel and fifth wheel trailers were built with incorrectly sized wheels. The incorrect wider rim does not allow proper clearance between the shock absorber, shock brackets, and the tire.

💥 The risk

This reduced clearance may cause the tire to rub on the chassis resulting in tire failure. This failure may result in loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash.

🔧 The fix

Komfort will replace the wheels and tires of the affected vehicles. The recall began on october 3, 2007. Owners may contact komfort at 1-503 722-5199.

Is the fix free? Yes. Safety recall repairs are free at any authorized dealer under federal law, including parts and labor. (Vehicles more than 15 years old when the recall was announced can be excluded, but most manufacturers still fix them.)
