2008 Big Dog K-9 & 2008 Bigdog Mastiff + 1 more recall: fuel system

⚠️ What's wrong

On certain motorcycles, the fuel line CAN potentially contact heated metal parts of the motorcycle and melt.

💥 The risk

This condition could occur without any prior warning and could result in fuel leakage. Fuel leakage, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire.

🔧 The fix

Dealers replaced the fuel line with one that has higher thermal resistance properties. Also new fuel lines were rerouted to further reduce exposure to heated metal. All motorcycles have been repaired. No owner notification will be necessary.

Is the fix free? Yes. Safety recall repairs are free at any authorized dealer under federal law, including parts and labor. (Vehicles more than 15 years old when the recall was announced can be excluded, but most manufacturers still fix them.)
