2008 Mack CHU & 2008 Mack CXN + 1 more recall: steering
⚠️ What's wrong
On certain trucks, the bolts that attach the steering gear to the frame may not have been tightened to the specified torque.
💥 The risk
Loss of steering control could occur increasing the risk of a crash.
🔧 The fix
Dealers will tighten the bolts free of charge. The recall began on december 10, 2007. Owners may contact mack trucks at 1-800-528-6586.
Is the fix free? Yes. Safety recall repairs are free at any authorized dealer under federal law, including parts and labor. (Vehicles more than 15 years old when the recall was announced can be excluded, but most manufacturers still fix them.)
