2008 Maserati Granturismo recall: airbag
⚠️ What's wrong
On certain vehicles equipped with the advanced passenger seat air bag weight sensor system. A malfunction CAN occur in the supplemental restraint system (SRS) electronic control unit (ECU) software when the battery is not fully charged.
💥 The risk
In the event of a crash, the passenger side air bag and passenger seatbelt pre-tensioner may not deploy increasing the risk of injuries.
🔧 The fix
Dealers will replace the SRS ECU units as necessary free of charge. All vehicles have been corrected.
Is the fix free? Yes. Safety recall repairs are free at any authorized dealer under federal law, including parts and labor. (Vehicles more than 15 years old when the recall was announced can be excluded, but most manufacturers still fix them.)
