2007 Yamaha Vino & 2007 Yamaha XF50 recall: steering
⚠️ What's wrong
Yamaha is recalling 4,800 my 2007 XF50 and XC50 motorcycles. A crack may develop on the connecting rod. If the engine continues to be run, the crack will develop further and the connecting rod may break.
💥 The risk
If the connecting rod breaks, the engine will stop and cannot be restarted increasing the risk of a crash.
🔧 The fix
Dealers will disassemble the engine and the crankshaft will be replaced with one that has a properly heat-treated connecting rod. The recall began on september 26, 2008. Owners may contact yamaha at 1-800-962-7926.
Is the fix free? Yes. Safety recall repairs are free at any authorized dealer under federal law, including parts and labor. (Vehicles more than 15 years old when the recall was announced can be excluded, but most manufacturers still fix them.)
