2000–2008 XL 80 JPS & 2001–2008 XL 100 JPS recall: trailer hitch
⚠️ What's wrong
Xl specialized trailers is recalling 164 my 1998-2008 80 JPS and my 2001-2008 100 JPS jeep trailers with sliding fifth wheel plates. These trailers may not have the proper welding pattern attaching the slider frame to the jeep frame.
💥 The risk
The weld could break increasing the risk of a crash.
🔧 The fix
Xl will fully weld the sliding fifth wheel frame to the jeep frame. The recall began on january 5, 2009. Owners may contact xl at 1-877-283-4852.
Is the fix free? Yes. Safety recall repairs are free at any authorized dealer under federal law, including parts and labor. (Vehicles more than 15 years old when the recall was announced can be excluded, but most manufacturers still fix them.)
