2009 Nabi 416 recall: steering
⚠️ What's wrong
North american bus industries, inc. (nabi) is recalling certain model year 2009 416 standard model floor city transit buses manufactured between october 30, 2008, and december 18, 2009. The mounting plate that holds the steering gear assembly may not have been sufficiently welded.
💥 The risk
An insufficient weld could lead to a separation or partial separation of the plate and cause the driver to loose proper steering control of the vehicle, possibly resulting in a crash.
🔧 The fix
Nabi will notify owners and repair the vehicles free of charge. The safety recall began on january 26, 2010. Owners may contact nabi customer service at 1-256-831-4296 ext. 1308.
Is the fix free? Yes. Safety recall repairs are free at any authorized dealer under federal law, including parts and labor. (Vehicles more than 15 years old when the recall was announced can be excluded, but most manufacturers still fix them.)
