⚠️ What's wrong
Hino is recalling certain trucks with vertical exhaust pipes. Certain bolts attaching the exhaust system to the truck may not have been properly tightened during the manufacturing process. The bolts could fail allowing the exhaust system to separate from the truck.
💥 The risk
The exhaust system could fall onto the roadway and be struck by a following vehicle resulting in a crash.
🔧 The fix
Hino will notify owners and dealers will repair the vehicles free of charge. The safety recall began on november 9, 2010. Owners may contact hino at 248-699-9330.
Is the fix free? Yes. Safety recall repairs are free at any authorized dealer under federal law, including parts and labor. (Vehicles more than 15 years old when the recall was announced can be excluded, but most manufacturers still fix them.)
