2009–2011 Altec Digger Derrick recall: equipment
⚠️ What's wrong
Altec is recalling certain model year 2008 through 2011 utility vehicles equipped with sure power battery separator devices, part number 16511893 (model 1314) or 16512967 (model 1315). The battery separator CAN overheat.
💥 The risk
Overheating of the battery separator CAN result in smoke and possible fire.
🔧 The fix
Altec will notify owners and replace the batter separators free of charge. The safety recall began on january 11, 2012. Owners may contact altec at 1-877-462-5832.
Is the fix free? Yes. Safety recall repairs are free at any authorized dealer under federal law, including parts and labor. (Vehicles more than 15 years old when the recall was announced can be excluded, but most manufacturers still fix them.)
