2012 Altec AT200A & 2012 Altec AT235 + 4 more recall: suspension
⚠️ What's wrong
Altec Industries, Inc. is recalling certain model year 2012 Aerial Device vehicles built on a Navistar Terrastar chassis because the Altec-installed torsion bar increases the ride height of the front suspension, which when the vehicle hits bumps, may cause the vehicle to alter its steering direction.
💥 The risk
As the vehicle hits bumps, it may deviate from the intended line of travel, increasing the risk of a crash.
🔧 The fix
Altec will notify owners, and will install an updated bracket and spring kit, free of charge. The safety recall began on August 27, 2012. Owners may contact Altec Industries at 1-877-462-5832.
Is the fix free? Yes. Safety recall repairs are free at any authorized dealer under federal law, including parts and labor. (Vehicles more than 15 years old when the recall was announced can be excluded, but most manufacturers still fix them.)
