2015–2016 Terex Advance Mixer FD3000 & 2015–2016 Terex Advance Mixer FD4000 + 1 more recall: powertrain & transmission

⚠️ What's wrong

Terex Advance (Terex) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Mixer FD3000, FD4000, and FD6000B vehicles manufactured August 1, 2014, to September 30, 2015, and equipped with drive axles manufactured by Marmon-Herrington. The affected axles may have hex nuts on the flange yoke that may not have been properly tightened.

💥 The risk

If the hex nuts are not tightened to specification, the driveshaft may disconnect from the drive axle, resulting in a loss of propulsion and increasing the risk of a crash.

🔧 The fix

Terex will notify owners and provide instructions to properly torque the bolts. The recall began on July 15, 2016. Owners may contact Terex customer service at 1-800-433-6691.

Is the fix free? Yes. Safety recall repairs are free at any authorized dealer under federal law, including parts and labor. (Vehicles more than 15 years old when the recall was announced can be excluded, but most manufacturers still fix them.)
