2021 Mercedes-Maybach S 580 & 2022 Mercedes-Maybach S 580 4Matic recall: airbag
⚠️ What's wrong
Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Maybach S580 vehicles. Trim parts on both front seats may detach during rear air bag deployment, which can damage the air bag cushion or cause the air bag to deploy improperly.
💥 The risk
Improper air bag deployment can increase the risk of an injury.
🔧 The fix
Dealers will replace the trim parts, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 27, 2022. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. MBUSA's number for this recall is 2022050006.
Is the fix free? Yes. Safety recall repairs are free at any authorized dealer under federal law, including parts and labor. (Vehicles more than 15 years old when the recall was announced can be excluded, but most manufacturers still fix them.)
