2019–2026 Micro Bird G5E School BUS recall: steering
⚠️ What's wrong
Corp. Micro Bird, Inc. (Micro Bird) is recalling certain 2019, 2021-2026 G5E school buses. The power steering pump may fail to start when the ignition is turned on or may shutdown unexpectedly.
💥 The risk
A loss of power steering assist can increase the risk of a crash.
🔧 The fix
Dealers will inspect and update the software as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 18, 2026. Owners can contact Micro Bird Customer Service at 819-477-2012. Micro Bird's number for this recall is 25-119-PUS.
Is the fix free? Yes. Safety recall repairs are free at any authorized dealer under federal law, including parts and labor. (Vehicles more than 15 years old when the recall was announced can be excluded, but most manufacturers still fix them.)
