2000 Chevrolet Lumina & 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix recall: airbag

⚠️ What's wrong

Vehicle description: passenger vehicles. The passenger side air bag modules have an undersized inflator orifice.

💥 The risk

In the event of a crash that would trigger a passenger side air bag deployment, this undersized orifice CAN cause the inflator module to explode. If an air bag inflator module explodes, metal and/or plastic debris could cause severe injury to the vehicle occupant.

🔧 The fix

Dealers will replace the passenger side air bag modules.

Is the fix free? Yes. Safety recall repairs are free at any authorized dealer under federal law, including parts and labor. (Vehicles more than 15 years old when the recall was announced can be excluded, but most manufacturers still fix them.)
